One year has passed since internet billionaire Walden Schmidt bought the Malibu beach house where fussy Alan Harper and his slacker teenage son, Jake, had been living. Despite his bitter stories with women, Alan found himself mentoring Walden after he experienced losses in love, marriage and divorce, of course. The trio adapt to their new living arrangement and build up a surrogate family unit that drive each to a better man … or at least try.
