The Conformist

The story is set in 1938 in Rome, a weak-willed Italian named Marcello, who just takes a job working for Mussolini and is falling in love with a charming woman. One day he is ordered to go abroad to arrange the assassination of his old teacher, who now is said to be a political dissident.
