Aparajito

After his father's death, Apu earns a university scholarship and leave his hometown for the teeming metropolis of Calcutta. Overwhelmed by the prosperous life of the city, he forgets about his mother who is living alone in sorrow. When he remembers of her and returns to his home, it's too late to fix the situation.
