The realtor Oren Little (Douglas) develops self-absorption and turns his back on others around him. Suddenly, his estranged son drops his nine-year-old granddaughter Sarah, who he hasn't ever known to exist before, off his house and asks him to take care of her. It's time Oren needs help from Leah, his neighbor whose husband has likewise died and having nothing to spend her attempts than her singing career.
